The Redesign
I tried to like Hexo and the themes it created, but it wasn't what I wanted. Using Claude Code, I rewrote the whole site in an afternoon.

Hi, I'm
Senior Principal Software Engineer at Nike, writing about cloud platforms, AWS and experiments in tech.
I've spent nearly two decades building backend systems, from MySpace's mobile messaging to the platforms behind Nike Run Club and the Nike App. Today I work on cloud governance and platform engineering at Nike, in Portland, Oregon.
Outside of work I like experimenting with technology for its own sake. This site is where those experiments get documented.

Replaced a legacy rule-based chatbot with an AI agent that understands intent and responds in real time. Athletes can track orders and manage returns, and the agent hands off to Consumer Services with a chat summary when they need extra help.

What you have access to these days compared to the early 2000s is mind-blowing. On top of that, it's free.
